Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving from Ocean Isle Beach, NC! How wonderful it is this year to be able to celebrate this special holiday with family. My older sister, brother-in-law and their three girls drove down from the Boston area to meet up with us, and we’re having a blast. We’re thankful for a friend we’ve known for 25 years making this possible by allowing us to use her beach home for the week.

We are a blessed family. As I sit here typing and thinking of how good the Lord has been a few things instantly come to mind. Having a personal relationship with Him is something that means more to me than anything. Spending these last several months home in America and seeing family and friends has been a great and memorable time for us. Having our precious Emma Grace join our family nearly three months ago, the details of her birth and how the Lord allowed her hip dysplasia to be noticed and treated so quickly are added blessings. Enjoying good health in a day where we see and hear of so many suffering physically is something for which I’m truly grateful for this year. On and on I could go of how good the Lord has been to me and my family in 2012.

We hope each of you also enjoy this day we count our blessings and reflect on all God has done for us. Well, the six little girls in this house are waking up and it’s time to put the turkey in the oven, so I better get going.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM THE HUFF’S! ~Heidi

Getting ready to go into new villages!

As we head back to Togo soon we are excited to focus our efforts on evangelizing the largest unreached people group in Togo called the Lamba people. Their villages are not easily accessed, and it is not ideal to take our truck out there often as the mountain roads and rough terrain would beat it up too much. The first church that we planted in the village of Tchandida is out in the bush too, and while we could not take a vehicle down the narrow pathways to the houses of those that came to our church, we were able to drive out to our church on a “decent” road. Now that I am preparing to spend a lot of time planting churches among the Lamba people, it became evident that it would be best to get a rugged dirt bike that could handle the abuse from the roads better than our truck could. The pastor of a great church in GA asked me if I needed any dirt bike gear and then put me in contact with a friend of his in the business.  The two of them were so kind to send me this jacket with built-in armor and a helmet that is sure to scare every young child I meet in the villages where I will go!
